Silver Ring in a Day
9:00 am - 1:00 pm
$150.00 (materials included)
DESCRIPTION: Learning how to make a ring is a bit more complicated than most people anticipate. It involves measuring and cutting the appropriate size, filing both ends of the ring to create a tight joint for soldering, forming the ring into a circle, cleaning, and polishing.
A typical ring class is six to eight hours which allows most students to make at least two rings. However, I've come to understand that it can difficult to dedicate more than a few hours to learning something new. As a result, I have developed a concise class to offer students the opportunity to learn some of these processes.
Once a student registers for this course, I will email them inquiring about their ring size. If you don't know your ring size, you can either make an appointment to be measured at my studio in Charlotte (this process takes a few minutes), or you can stop by your local jewelry store.
Once I have your size, I'll prepare your silver ring which you'll solder, form, clean, and polish in class. Each class needs at least two students to run, making it an ideal class to break from the holiday madness and hang out with friends and family while learning something new. In addition, you can share your experience and show off your new ring at your holiday celebrations!
